What are Intensives?

Intensives are weeklong programs of care designed to help you make rapid progress in a short amount of time. If you live outside the San Francisco Bay Area, and are unable to visit NeuroBlossom Chiropractic in Lafayette, CA for regular care, an Intensive is an opportunity for you to achieve health breakthroughs using the unique combination of expertise and clinical resources that Dr. Lerner-Powers offers.

Intensives are also a valuable opportunity if you live locally, but are highly motivated to make the fastest progress possible for your body. For example, if you are at a decisive moment for your health and want to explore to the fullest extent what is possible with alternative medicine before trying an irreversible or high-risk option.

A Personalized Program of Care

The typical schedule for Intensives is to do 1-2 hours of hands-on, one-on-one work per day. These sessions may comprise any services offered, such as D.N.F.T. Chiropractic, Neurological Integration System (NIS), Neuro-Emotional Technique (NET), cold laser therapy, EEG neurofeedback, and functional medicine. The amount of care you will receive in a 6 Day Intensive is comparable to 4 or more months of weekly visits. This is a powerful way to jumpstart your health and achieve breakthroughs.

Your Intensive is fully customized to your real-time needs. If on one day, your nervous system is still processing the work from the day before, then we use that as a rest day and you can resume care when your body is ready. To best meet your needs, you are only billed for the work that we complete, rather than a flat rate for the program.

The Structure of Intensives

Your Intensive will consist of the following:

New Patient Intake

Medical History

The history portion of your intake involves discussing your goals of care, and reviewing your medical history. Your health history is best taken ahead of time via telehealth. This allows us to take the fullest advantage of our in-person time. If you have imaging, it is helpful if you send these records ahead of time.

Initial Exam

The initial exam is a physical exam to gather more information about your condition.

Report of Findings

The Report of Findings is presented the day after the initial exam, and includes specific recommendations for how we can work while you are here, what you can do while you are home, and what follow-up care to pursue. We will also discuss the goals of your care.

Goals of care

According to your starting point, we will set goals for your stay and work to achieve them. Goals typically include measurable parameters such as muscle strength, range of motion, pain levels, balance, and subjective units of distress (SUDs). If you choose to do Neuro-Emotional Technique, your goals of care will also include achieving nervous system congruence with your Goals and Ideal Inner State worksheets.

Sessions

During your care sessions, we will use a variety of methods to achieve your goals. According to your needs, this may include DNFT Chiropractic adjustments, NIS, NET, cold laser therapy, EEG neurofeedback, and functional nutritional testing.

Intensives are mutually demanding. Dr. Lerner-Powers offers a limited number of Intensives per month, in order to deliver the highest quality of care possible. To schedule an Intensive, please call ahead of time to reserve space in Dr. Lerner-Powers’ schedule.
